College Initiatives

Delaware Technical Community College has undertaken a variety of initiatives to align our programs with the workforce needs of the future, educate students for environmental and energy efficient careers while reducing our own carbon footprint, and communicate effectively with community and business leaders and the citizens of the state of Delaware. The essence of Delaware Tech is access, opportunity, hope, and excellence, and these initiatives illustrate the College’s commitment to those goals.

Achieving the Dream - Achieving the Dream (ATD) is a national reform network of more than 220 colleges in 41 states dedicated to helping more community college students, particularly low-income students and student of color, stay in school and earn a college certificate, diploma, or degree. As an ATD Network institution, Delaware Tech will work with their coaches to build institutional capacity, receive expert data analysis, and innovate to implement, align, and scale cutting-edge reforms.

EPSCoR Partnership - Delaware Technical Community College, the University of Delaware, Delaware State University, and Wesley College are partners in Delaware’s EPSCoR Research Infrastructure Improvement Program (RII-3) grant. EPSCoR, the Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research, is a federal grant program led by the National Science Foundation (NSF) to help states develop their research capabilities and institutions.

Equity - At Delaware Tech, equity is central to our mission. We empower students to change their lives through comprehensive educational opportunities and holistic support services that promote equitable outcomes. In addition, we promote an inclusive culture that advances diversity and equity for all individuals at the College.

Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College And Career Training (TAACCCT) Grant Program - At Delaware Technical Community College, we recognize the importance of developing strong relationships between the business community and the student community. We have been provided a unique opportunity to engage these two entities through the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration's grant program.
